Restless kidney

Restless kidney

The main function of the kidneys is to purify the blood. The purified blood travels from the aorta to the kidneys through the aorta and the purified blood is diverted to the inferior vena cava via the kidneys. The waste products in the blood are separated through filtration and excreted in the urine. Their function is to remove excess water from the body and keep the water level accurate. It also helps regulate the levels of salts and chemicals in the blood. They also help regulate blood pressure. Each kidney receives about 1,200 milliliters of blood per minute. This great cleansing process is done by the microtubules in the kidneys, called nephrons, and the adjacent glomerular filters. One kidney is enough for the body to function normally.

The shape of a pea

In the abdomen we have two kidneys located on either side of the spine. These are dark red in shape and have the shape of a pea. They are 10 cm to 13 cm long, 5 cm to 7.5 cm wide and weigh about 150 grams. The right kidney is slightly smaller and slightly lower than the left. The kidneys are located between 11 and 12 of the ribs, which are firm and soft.

 Diseases and diseases

The major kidney diseases are kidney stones, nephritis and uremia. Kidney stones are caused by the accumulation of calcium salts in the kidneys or urinary tract.

Symptoms include abdominal pain, urinary incontinence, dizziness, and vomiting. Nephritis is an inflammation of the kidneys caused by an infection or toxin in the body. Symptoms include urinary incontinence, dark urine, back pain, fever, and swelling of the face and ankles. Uremia is the complete failure of both kidneys. Urea and other excretory substances accumulate in the body and cause anemia, dizziness, shortness of breath and diarrhea.

The main indicator of kidney disease is the level of creatinine in the blood. It is produced in the muscles and must be removed by the kidneys. In people with kidney disease, it accumulates in the blood. Kidney function is measured by measuring the glomerular filtration rate (ML). Blood pressure is calculated based on a person's age, gender, and some other criteria. The nephrologist can diagnose the patient's condition according to the degree and prescribe the necessary treatment.

 Kidney needs salvation

Kidney care can follow certain lifestyle habits. Even some cosmetics used on the skin can endanger this organ. These things are important to keep kidney diseases at bay.

 Keep the body healthy.

 Drink enough water.

Make a healthy eating habit. Eat a nutritious and low blood glucose diet.

Make sure your blood pressure is regular.

Make sure the body weight is appropriate.

 Quit smoking completely.

Avoid regular and overuse of medications such as antibiotics and painkillers.

Examine family members of people with diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and kidney disease.

 When I get sick ...

No specific symptoms are seen in the early stages of kidney disease. Blood and urine tests are the best way to find out. If not, dialysis or kidney transplantation is the solution. There are two types of dialysis: hemodialysis, in which the blood is pumped into a machine, and peritoneal dialysis, which is performed with the help of fluid that is passed through the abdomen without removing the blood. Kidney transplantation is the transplantation of a healthy kidney into a person whose two kidneys are completely incapacitated
